Lerone Murphy recently shared his thoughts on Diego Lopes getting booked against Alexander Volkanovski for a title rematch and expressed his frustration at being snubbed.Dana White recently announced that the UFC 325 event in January will be headlined by a featherweight title rematch between Volkanovski and Lopes. In their first encounter at UFC 314 in April, Volkanovski beat Lopes via unanimous decision and won the 145-pound title that was left vacant after Ilia Topuria moved up to compete at lightweight.Given that Murphy is widely considered one of the most exciting prospects in the UFC featherweight division and has an undefeated 17-0-1 professional record, many expected the Englishman to get the next featherweight title shot after his stunning first-round KO victory over Aaron Pico at UFC 319 in August. However, the promotion had other plans. In a recent X post, Murphy expressed his dismay at being overlooked and wrote:"Missing the opportunity to fight one of the featherweight goats is what hurts me the most. It’s not about who’s the best anymore. It’s about who’s most popular."Aljamain Sterling reacts to Lerone Murphy questioning UFC 325 main event title fightAljamain Sterling recently reacted to Lerone Murphy's frustrations about being snubbed for a title shot. The former UFC bantamweight champion agreed with the Englishman's take and questioned Diego Lopes getting another title shot against Alexander Volkanovski. In an X post, Sterling stated that Volkanovski should've been booked against Murphy or Movsar Evloev instead of Lopes:"I agree with Lerone. Even if I didn’t get it, him or Movsar for sure should’ve been the guy. Movsar got passed over by Lopes once, and he gets another opportunity for gold lol. Fair play to Lopes, but you can see why guys start to lose love for the game. Cold world."
