Jake Paul is gearing up for his big fight with Anthony Joshua this weekend but also has his eyes on another legend of the sport.
The boxing world was left shocked after Terence Crawford announced his retirement from the sport. The American ended his career with a 42-0 record and beat Canelo Alvarez in his last bout.
Crawford held several boxing records and titles over the years, but this decision didn’t sit down well with Paul.
‘The Problem Child’ was speaking to The Schmo and believes that Crawford is not retiring from the sport:

“I think it’s cap. I don’t think he is actually retiring but it’s a smart move by him.”
The Schmo then asked Paul if he wanted to fight Crawford. ‘The Problem Child’ claimed that the fight would happen in 2026 and that Crawford had already agreed to fight him this year.
“I’ll fight Crawford. 100% next year. He already was down this year but we are going to make it happen next year.”

Paul has already fought big stars such as Mike Tyson, Nate Diaz and Tyron Woodley. However, his fight against Joshua is his toughest test so far.
Paul has a 12-1 record in his professional boxing career with his only loss coming at the hands of Tyson’s Fury’s brother, Tommy.
Nakisa Bidarian explains Terence Crawford retirement move
Most Valuable Promotions head Nakisa Bidarian also shared his thoughts on Terence Crawford’s retirement.
The co-founder of the promotion claimed that this was a negotiation move and that many other stars have also used this same tactic before returning to action.
Bidarian was speaking to The Schmo and brought up the examples of Tyson Fury and Conor McGregor:
“Absolutely not. It’s all negotiating leverage. Conor McGregor’s retired 14 times, Tyson Fury has retired daily, weekly, monthly and then comes back. Jake [Paul] once told me in 2023 he wanted to retire. I asked him how long, he said ‘couple of weeks’ not worth it, don’t do it.”
