Superlek says he is excited for the high-profile matchup and referenced his previous win over Takeru. He told ONE Championship:

"When the team announced Yuki, I felt instantly motivated because it presents a great challenge. I get to fight another superstar from Japan."

The bout adds another explosive non-title bout to an already stacked card featuring seven world championship fights across multiple combat sports disciplines.

ONE 173 is shaping up to be the biggest ONE Championship event of all time, and Superlek can’t wait to electrify the Japanese crowd once again.

Superlek is excited to face a formidable foe in Yuki Yoza

‘The Kicking Machine’ Superlek was ready to spend the rest of his year chilling on the beach, sipping a pina colada. But the 29-year-old couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to fight a big name in Yuki Yoza, in front of the Japanese fighter’s hometown crowd at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri.

As such, the Thai veteran is confident he will get the job done, just like he did against Takeru. ‘The Kicking Machine’ told ONE Championship:

“The main reason I want to return is my opponent, Yuki. I’ve watched him fight, and he expressed a desire to fight me on his Instagram when I fought Takeru.”
