Ilia Topuria is still on the quest for the fight that originally brought him to lightweight - a clash against Islam Makhachev. The Dagestani now holds the welterweight strap and seems in no rush to move back down. 'El Matador', however, has a few ideas on how the fight could still be made.The 28-year-old realizes the promotion wouldn't let him vacate the lightweight title immediately and move up to 170 pounds, and as such, is hoping to defend his title once, preferably against long-time rival Paddy Pimblett.The Georgian-born Spaniard then envisions himself moving up to welterweight to face Makhachev sometime in the summer.
