What started as a cordial interaction between Khamzat Chimaev and Ian Garry backstage at UFC Qatar quickly went awry as 'Borz' shoved the Irishman, prompting the security staff to separate the two. Garry now believes it could have been a language barrier that caused the scuffle. After his statement win over Belal Muhammad, Garry went backstage at the ABHA Arena in Doha, where he linked up with Arman Tsarukyan's team, congratulating them on their win over Dan Hooker.'The Future' eventually crossed paths with Chimaev and gave him a few firm pats on his back - a congratulatory gesture that Chimaev read as disrespectful.UFC security quickly stepped in between the two, sensing an escalation, and right as Garrry tried to reason with the staffers, proclaiming the Chechen-born Emirati wasn't going to fight him, came an aggressive shove from Chimaev.During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, the welterweight star opined that it could've been a language barrier that could've caused Chimaev's outburst:"I turn around, and there is a security guy in front of us, and I'm like, 'Huh, why are you there? We just had a cordial conversation, with no animosity whatsoever. We are not going to fight, and I think in that moment, due to potential language barrier and misunderstanding, I think Khamzat took that the wrong way, as in like, 'He’s not gonna fight me,' [Garry said in an aggressive tone.], and then everything switched, and he started to curse."Check out Ian Garry's comments on his backstage scuffle with Khamzat Chimaev below:Darren Till slams Ian Garry over UFC Qatar scuffle with Khamzat ChimaevDarren Till has come out in support of his friend Khamzat Chimaev following the UFC Qatar backstage scuffle involving Ian Garry. As 'The Gorilla' sees it, no matter how good a fighter 'The Future' is, he is plain unlikable.Addressing the incident in a recent social media post, the former UFC star-turned pro-boxer unloaded on Garry's character, calling him "fake beyond all beliefs" and claiming the entire interaction with Chimaev exposed it:"Ian Garry is such a good fighter man, but by god is he possibly the fakest human on earth, fake beyond all beliefs. It’s so hard to like him... He’s calling Khamzat a child. He was being fake. That whole interaction was fake. And when Ian turned, you could see he was scared... Ian is a really good fighter, but he’s just so unlikeable... I’ve tried to support Ian Garry, [but he] is just a proper proper w**ker. A fake w**ker at that."
