Poatan’ defeated Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320 with a first-round TKO win. This was an impressive outing given that the Brazilian lost the title to the Russian at UFC 313.

UFC 320 took place in early October, and ‘Poatan’ has spent a lot of time after the event traveling and celebrating his win. He has visited the San Siro to see an Italian soccer league game and was even at the Brazilian F1 Grand Prix.

“Yesterday was a really good training day, where I could prove to myself what I can do and where I can go. I have not trained since my last fight Because I injured my foot, and now before returning to training I decided to spend the thanksgiving weekend with my children in Orlando, but there was a small change of plans and we went to the gym and I did two workouts.”

The Brazilian added that he wasn’t all that prepared for the sparring session and was apprehensive about going full throttle. However, he was pleased that he didn’t get injured and reiterated that he wants to achieve something that hasn’t been done.

“Maybe I didn’t have the same performance because these were the only two workouts after my last fight and I wasn’t physically prepared, I was a little apprehensive because I didn’t go to do this type of training and I didn’t even bring a mouthguard. But thank God nothing happened. I’m coming back to do what nobody has done, CHAMA 🔥”

However, Pereira also has another fight in mind, which he wants at the UFC White House.

Alex Pereira challenges Jon Jones to a White House fight

During his visit to Italy, Alex Pereira still had time to send Jon Jones a message. ‘Poatan’ shared a video with MMA influencer Nina-Marie Daniele where he called out the former UFC double champion.

The Brazilian was standing in front of the Colosseum and did his trademark walk. He was asked by the influencer who he wanted to fight next, and ‘Poatan’ responded with Jones’ name.

Pereira also shared that he wanted to fight Jones at the White House. The UFC will start matchmaking for the grand event set for June 2026 from February next year.
