Thai striking specialist Suakim Sor Jor Tongprajin was confident of his chances against British-Canadian slugger Jake Peacock, but he admits his dance partner's speed and power did catch him by surprise.
The pair went to war in a bantamweight Muay Thai clash at ONE 173 on November 16, which emanated live from the state-of-the-art Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
Suakim was up against the Dunamis Muay Thai fighters' aggressive game plan throughout the contest, right until the moment he dropped 'The One' with a left hook early in the third stanza.
Peacock came flying in with elbows, punching combinations, and accurate kicks – all of which pushed the Thai slugger on the back foot for a large duration of the first two frames.

Speaking to reporters following his fifth highlight-reel triumph in the world's largest martial arts organization, the PK Saenchai Muaythaigym athlete tipped his hat to Peacock's destructive arsenal, while admitting he didn't foresee himself wrapping the fight inside the distance.
"In the first round, my plan was to see how much of power Peacock’s got and if I could take his shots and continue pushing through in the second or the third round," the 30-year-old said.
"But I was quite shocked in the first round because I got hit a lot, and I didn’t expect to get the knockout, a clean finish, in the third round."
With the win inside the Japanese capital city at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri, the seasoned striker improved to 155-59 in his career. Peacock, meanwhile, suffered his first promotional loss, dropping his slate to 14-2.
