Former K-1 champion Kana Morimoto recognizes the magnitude of the opportunity standing before her, and she's determined to make the most of it.
The Japanese striking specialist faces former three-sport ONE world champion Stamp Fairtex in a women's atomweight kickboxing bout at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri inside Tokyo's Ariake Arena on Sunday, November 16.
In an exclusive interview with the South China Morning Post (SCMP) ahead of their highly anticipated clash, 'Krusher Queen' opened up about what facing someone of Stamp's stature means for her career and why this fight represents the perfect platform to introduce herself to a global audience.
"I feel Stamp is one of the most popular and famous fighters at ONE Championship. So that means a lot of fans all over the world are looking forward to this fight as well," Kana shared.

Kana's aggressive approach could steal Stamp's spotlight
Kana Morimoto's promise to put on a show in 'The Land of the Rising Sun' aligns perfectly with her previously stated game plan to be aggressive throughout their three-round battle.
Stamp brings world championship pedigree and a well-rounded skill set that includes world titles in kickboxing, Muay Thai, and MMA. But ring rust could be present given that she's spent most of her past two years on the sidelines.
This gives Kana the perfect chance to use her aggression from the opening bell, which could exploit any lingering doubts or vulnerabilities.
A statement victory over someone of Stamp's caliber would validate Morimoto's claim that she's ready to showcase her truest qualities in search of bigger opportunities in ONE Championship's atomweight division.
