“I’m going all out” - Rodtang thrilled to return to Japan to face Nong-O for vacant flyweight Muay Thai belt

Muay Thai megastar and former flyweight Muay Thai king ‘The Iron Man’ Rodtang Jitmuangnon is excited to return to ‘The Land of the Rising Sun’ when he takes on Nong-O Hama for the vacant ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title this weekend.

The 28-year-old Thai firecracker will be heading to ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri, which will go down live on Sunday, Nov. 16, from Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Rodtang shared how he’s feeling ahead of this blockbuster event.

‘The Iron Man’ told the world’s largest martial arts organization:

“I’m really happy to have the chance to go back and fight in Japan again. As I’ve said every time I’ve been interviewed, Japan is like my second home. I have to thank all the fans who welcomed me so well. I feel the happiest when I go to fight there.”

Rodtang added:

“The feeling of getting the belt back again makes me very happy. I’m going all out. I want to reclaim this belt because, above all else, I want to have a championship title on my shoulder.”

Rodtang says winning flyweight Muay Thai belt again will erase the sting of having to fight close friend Nong-O

‘The Iron Man’ Rodtang Jitmuangnon isn’t particularly thrilled he has to fight close friend and mentor Nong-O Hama at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri on Nov. 16, but he understands it has to happen so that he can win the flyweight Muay Thai gold again.

“If I win, I will just win. I guess I’ll be happy when I win the championship, just like how everybody else would.”
