Reigning ONE strawweight MMA world champion ‘The Passion’ Joshua Pacio of the Philippines says his move up to the flyweight division has been an absolute dream.
The 29-year-old Baguio City native says he feels stronger and faster at a higher weight class, and he hasn’t had to cut weight, which all fighters dream of.
Pacio will challenge newly crowned ONE flyweight MMA world champion ‘Little Piranha’ Yuya Wakamatsu for the Japanese fighter’s gold this weekend. The two lock horns for the vacant ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri, which will go down live on Sunday, November 16, from the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

Speaking to the South China Morning Post in a recent interview, Pacio talked about how his training camp has been going ahead of ONE 173. ‘The Passion’ said:
“I'm enjoying it. I will not cut a big weight. So eat healthy, of course, eat healthy, eat a lot, and there's Pete [Miller] on my side, Condition Nutrition. So it's been a happy fight camp for me because, I've been eating a lot, training hard. So yeah, it's what fighters dream most of - not to cut weight, you know, just enjoy the training, enjoy eating, and here we are.”
