The UFC CEO is widely credited for the mercurial growth of the promotion and for making it the biggest platform for mixed martial artists today. White became UFC President after the Fertitta brothers acquired the UFC in 2001 and has been the organization's frontman ever since.

Given that White has been leading the UFC for over two decades, many have wondered whether the 56-year-old has contemplated retirement as part of a larger conversation about who could potentially replace him as the face of the promotion.

"When I was younger, older people used to say, ‘When I retire, I’ll be drinking Mai Tais on the beach, and all this sh*t. I go on great vacations. After 10 days, I’m sick of putting f*cking tan lotion on, I'm sick of drinking, I’m sick of all this sh*t, and I’m ready to get back to the grind. That's just the way that I think. As far as the business goes, I’m always thinking about how to make the business bigger and bigger every day."

When Dana White opened up about having a successor in mind after he retires from the UFC

Last year, Dana White opened up about hanging it up and appointing a successor to take over the UFC after he's done. While White didn't outright name the person he had in mind, he revealed that it was someone who was deeply involved in the behind-the-scenes operations of the company.

In an interview with Robbie Fox, White opened up about speculations regarding his potential replacement and said:

“Funny, because I see people say that all the time and uh, you know they think that this guy or that guy, but it's people who really don't know f***king anything about this business. And uh, there's so much more to what we do, there's a formula to what we do and why we've been successful… there's certain things that I do that he wouldn't be able to do, but the important things that get done over there are what really matter. And this guy could absolutely positively do it… Nobody would even know”
