Dillon Danis: "I don’t pay attention to the circus sideshow" - Colby Covington rips into Dillon Danis after UFC 322 brawl

UFC 322 might have crowned a new double champion in Islam Makhachev but another major talking point was the brawl that took place before the main card began.

Dillon Danis was involved in a huge scrap with Islam Makhachev’s team. Danis was seen getting punched and kicked during the brawl, but he has been criticized from all corners.

Dana White, the UFC president, banned Danis from future UFC events, while other MMA stars have questioned the American’s antics leading up to the brawl.

Colby Covington also shared his thoughts on this incident. ‘Chaos’ was speaking to The Schmo and claimed Danis wasn’t important enough to keep an eye on:

“I can’t pay attention to anything that guy does. He is not relevant, he has never won a fight in his life. I don’t pay attention to the circus sideshow.”

When does Colby Covington fight next?

Colby Covington is on the hunt for his next opponent. The former UFC interim welterweight lost to Joaquin Buckley in his last outing in December 2024.

While Covington wants to fight at the White House, he is actively seeking a return early next year.

The American shared his plans for at least two fights next year in the same interview with The Schmo:

“I’d like to fight before that, I would like to fight in January, February. We have been talking. Hopefully they can put an opponent together that makes sense for the company, get a bit of a warm up and then fight at the White House, second fight of the year.”

Covington was then asked if he had some names in mind, and he did share some potential fighters that he wanted to face.

“Some interesting guys out there. Gilbert Burns makes sense, Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson, [Nate] Diaz is always fun. I want big fights and guys who are legends in the game.”
