The 34-year-old former three-division K-1 champion returned to the winner's column on home soil with a devastating second-round TKO of Denis Puric at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri on Sunday, November 16, inside Tokyo's Ariake Arena.

'Natural Born Krusher' scored four knockdowns throughout the flyweight kickboxing clash to earn his second promotional win in the Japanese capital.

During his post-fight in-Circle interview with commentator Mitch Chilson, an emotional Takeru opened up about the weight of his recent losses and what this victory meant for the fans who never stopped believing in him.

"So, my last fight against Rodtang, I lost immediately, and I felt like I let down the fans in Japan, the fans all over the world, and there's no way I could have ended my career on a note like that. So this time, I came back in a situation where I [needed] to win. I got the win, and I feel like I was able to repay the fans just a little bit," the Team Vasileus star shared via a translator.

Indeed, the striking specialist showed exactly why he became one of Japan's biggest striking superstars during his legendary K-1 run when he took to the Circle against the Bosnian-Canadian veteran in Tokyo.

His speed, shot selection, and relentless pressure that defined his three-division K-1 championship reign were on full display as he systematically broke down 'The Bosnian Menace' until the fourth and final knockdown arrived at 2:49 of the second canto.

He also earned a US$50,000 performance bonus from ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong for his highlight-reel triumph.

Denis Puric prepared to help Takeru overcome Rodtang

Shortly after the triumph, Takeru confirmed that his next fight would be the last hurrah of his glorious career. The Tokyo-based fighter declared that he'd want to face Rodtang Jitmuangnon before he rides off into the sunset.

'The Iron Man' instantly agreed to that idea and entered the Circle for a faceoff against the man he put to sleep inside just 80 seconds at ONE 172 in Saitama.

He will have it all to do against the former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion, but Puric, who shared the global stage with Rodtang at ONE 167, is ready to lend a hand to 'Natural Born Krusher' to ensure he gets sweet revenge before retirement.

"You're a warrior. You're the best. If you need help to beat Rodtang, I can help. You're very strong," Puric told Takeru when they met backstage.
