Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya shared his take on the huge fight between Jack Della Maddalena and Islam Makhachev.Della Maddalena puts his welterweight title on the line at UFC 322. This is going to be the Australian’s first UFC title defense, and it is against the former lightweight champion Makhachev.The Russian is aiming to become the latest two-division champion and is considered by many the favorite heading into the bout.However, Adesanya believes Della Maddalena could knock Makhachev out. The former middleweight champion was speaking on his YouTube channel FreeStylebender and predicted the following:“I am not trying to count Islam out, but I know Jack. I know that when Jack keeps getting up, it’s gonna be a problem and Islam’s gonna be forced to strike, and when he is forced to strike with Jack, he’s gonna get hurt.”While Adesanya admitted that Makhachev is one of the best fighters ever, he brought up examples of how Dustin Poirier and Alexander Volkanovski were able to get up after being taken down by the Russian.Adesanya believed that Makhachev would take Della Maddalena down. However, he didn’t think it would be for too long. Seven times I've watched it, because I respect him. He is good. I believe we are going to beat him, but we are doing our homework."Mendez added that his team was well prepared for the fight and wasn’t paying heed to any comments from the other camp.
