Merab Dvalishvili recently fired back at Petr Yan for dissing his Jacuzzi sessions and questioned the Russian fighter's training camp in Thailand.
Dvalishvili and Yan are set to throw down in a bantamweight title rematch at UFC 323 this weekend at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. In their first encounter at UFC Fight Night 221 in March 2023, Dvalishvili defeated Yan via a dominant unanimous decision.
At the pre-fight presser, Dvalishvili jokingly invited Yan to join him in a hot tub for some rest and recuperation. However, Yan didn't see the humor in Dvalishvili's invite and snapped at the Georgian-born fighter, saying:
"You have plenty of people in your Jacuzzi; I don't have to be there. I feel like you should have girls in your Jacuzzi instead of who you have. If you like to be in the Jacuzzi with the boys, it's up to you... All I saw was you got boys in yours. Honestly, I haven't even seen you with a girl before at all."

In a recent appearance on the UFC Weigh-In Show (via @ChampRDS on X), 'The Machine' addressed Yan's comments and clapped back at the Russian fighter:
"I invite him as a friend, and now he makes these bullsh*t [comments]. I don't understand. He’d rather live in Thailand with all the l*dyboys. He's crazy. He has a wife and a beautiful family; if he wants women, that's no problem. We are living in beautiful [Las] Vegas, women are never an issue here. I don't want to go to Thailand with all the l*dyboys, that's why I've never been there."
Robert Whittaker previews Merab Dvalishvili vs. Petr Yan rematch
Robert Whittaker recently shared his thoughts on the Merab Dvalishvili vs. Petr Yan rematch at UFC 323 this weekend. The former middleweight champion backed 'The Machine' to win again and explained why.
In an interview with Fox Sports Australia, Whittaker gave Yan nothing more than a "puncher's chance" and said:
"Obviously, [Dvalishvili's] a wrestler, and his wrestling game is just so strong, and he uses that to such devastating effect. He's only getting better in my eyes."
He added:
"Bar a puncher's chance, I just don't see where a weakness of his is right now. There's always a puncher's chance in every fight. Him shooting the same time Petr decides to throw a knee, it could happen... I don't see it going any differently. I think he's gotten defensively more sound with his striking." [H/t: MMA Junkie]
