Jones, a former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion, is keen on returning to action at the White House card in 2026. ‘Bones’ hasn’t fought since defeating Stipe Miocic in November 2024, but seems open to facing off against Pereira.

Poatan’ recently reclaimed the UFC light heavyweight title from Magomed Ankalaev, and the Brazilian called out ‘Bones’ for a heavyweight clash.

Jackson was speaking on the Jaxxon Podcast and brought up how Jones’ intelligence and fight IQ would come in handy against Pereira.

“I don’t think there’s nobody out there that can really beat Jon Jones. Jon Jones, he is very intelligent with his decision-making of who he fights and his opponents. I don’t think he was worried about Tom Aspinall as everybody thought he was.”

The former champion further claimed that Jones knows how to fight Pereira, and that wrestling might be the key to the clash.

“He knows what type of fight he’ll take to Alex Pereira. Let’s not be stupid.”

Jackson also brought up Jones’ dominant win over Ciryl Gane, and added that ‘Bones’ didn’t care about fights being great as long as he won.

“Look at what he did the Ciryl Gane. That is the same type of fight he wants to give to Alex. He don’t care about the entertainment, he cares about his legacy only."

Rogan was speaking on his podcast and claimed that should the two meet, this fight would be one of the greatest ever.

“The big money fight is Alex [Pereira] and Jon Jones at the White House. Are you f**king kidding me? Catchweight. Make it 225. It doesn't have to be for a title. Make it the Baddest Mother F**ker upper edition. The Jon Jones vs. Alex Pereira fight would probably be the biggest fight in human history. In MMA, as a matchup, you have the greatest of all time in Jon Jones and arguably the most destructive striker that's ever competed. No one is like that guy.”

Jones vs. Pereira at the White House UFC event would be an incredible fight for MMA fans. However, it is to be seen if Jones is interested in coming out of his sabbatical to face one of the most dangerous athletes in the world.

Jones will have the wrestling edge over Pereira and could dominate the fight on the mat. However, ‘Poatan’ cannot be underestimated with the punching power he possesses.
