Arman Tsarukyan wasted no time calling out UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria after an impressive showing at UFC Qatar.
The Armenian was part of the main event as he took on Dan Hooker. Tsarukyan dominated the Kiwi star and got the win via submission.
‘Ahalkalakets’ has had Topuria in his sights for a long time and called out the champion on social media. Tsarukyan also lauded Hooker for taking up the fight:
“Respect to Dan Hooker for taking the fight. He has bigger b*lls than champ of the division.”

Topuria, for his part, is eager to fight Islam Makhachev, the UFC welterweight champion and former lightweight champion.
Makhachev vacated his lightweight title before moving up and recently won the welterweight title at UFC 322.
Tsarukyan also claimed that his fight against Topuria was the biggest fight the UFC could make in any division.
“Me VS Ilia is the best fight to make across any division. No more running el pato.”

Tsarukyan was scheduled to fight Makhachev at UFC 311 for the lightweight title. However, the Armenian pulled out at the last minute, citing injury and was replaced by Renato Moicano.
Arman Tsarukyan lauds Islam Makhachev’s UFC 322 performance
While Arman Tsarukyan keeps chasing UFC gold, he did have time to praise Islam Makhachev on becoming the latest two-division champion.
Makhachev dominated the then-welterweight-champion, Jack Della Maddalena, across five rounds and secured an easy win at UFC 322.
The Russian moved up a division to face Della Maddalena, but it made very little difference to his game. Tsarukyan believed the Australian would be able to negate some of Makhachev’s skills; however, that was not the case.
In an interview with Red Corner MMA, Tsarukyan said:
“No, I thought Jack would be able to defend some takedown and get up from the ground. But he could do absolutely nothing. Islam showed he was on another level. He nullified all his strong attributes and just dominated.”
