“For many people, it was impossible” - Martyna Dominczak looks back on her humble beginnings, ready to win big in ONE Championship

Polish Muay Thai firecracker Martyna Dominczak has come a long way from being a young girl in her home country, dreaming of becoming a professional fighter, to today competing in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

Dominczak fought through adversity and defied all odds, made it out of Poland and is now showcasing her skills on martial arts’ biggest stage.

Now, the 23-year-old has an opportunity to make a name for herself in ONE Championship, and she’s ready to seize the moment.

She told the promotion:

“As I said before, right now, I'm the first Polish fighter in ONE Championship. For many people, it was impossible. It seemed unbelievable, but I did it. I'm going step by step to the top. And as I said before, I have 10 more years of my career, so I think it's a lot of time to make even more [history].”

Dominczak will face ‘The Queen’ Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom in a three-round atomweight Muay Thai showdown at ONE Fight Night 38: Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu on Prime Video this weekend.

ONE Fight Night 38: Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu on Prime Video will go down live in U.S. primetime on Friday, Dec. 5, and will take place at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. North American fans can watch the event free of charge with Amazon Prime Video.

Martyna Dominczak excited to show strength at atomweight against Phetjeeja

Martyna Dominczak is moving down from strawweight to atomweight for her highly anticipated showdown with ‘The Queen’ Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom at ONE Fight Night 38: Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu on Prime Video this weekend.

She told ONE Championship that she’s stronger at this weight class:

“I think I'm a totally different fighter right now [from my first fight last year] because this will be my fifth fight in ONE Championship. Now I know all the rules. Now I know how to punch with the small gloves, how to protect [myself] with them. Also I'm in a smaller weight category. My body is feeling better here. It's my first time doing this weight, so I know how my body will react. And I'm more experienced.”
