ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade owns one of the most devastating striking arsenals across all of combat sports. But he's never one to rest on his laurels.
Ahead of his next title defense against No.4-ranked contender, Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu of Mongolia, the Brazilian told combat sports correspondent Nick Atkin that he has ventured away from the gym he represents, Phuket's Tiger Muay Thai, to take his striking game to a new level closer to home: Sao Paolo's Fighting Nerds.
"I went to training at Fighting Nerds, and there I got a lot of new tips for takedown defense because I already knew I was fighting him, so I had a lot of time to work on my defense, on my ground game. But at Fighting Nerds, they also added a lot of things to my striking," the 28-year-old ONE Championship fighter shared.

Fighting Nerds was founded by 45-year-old former kickboxer Pablo Sucupira. The gym has fighters competing across the Brazilian martial arts scene and even has athletes who ply their trade in the UFC: Caio Borralho, Jean Silva, Carlos Prates, and Mauricio Ruffy.
Andrade hopes his work under Sucupira and the rest of Brazil's top strikers will help him overcome his next test inside the Circle at ONE Fight Night 38.
Fabricio Andrade totally locked in for Baatarkhuu test
In the same interview with Atkin, Fabricio Andrade revealed that he hasn't taken his foot off the gas pedal to prepare for what the Mongolian brings to the Circle on fight night.
While he is a favorite to walk out of the legendary venue with 26 pounds of gold in his suitcase, 'Wonder Boy' refuses to undermine the challenger's credentials.
"Yeah, I'm very happy to be able to be competing. For us, it's very important to stay active, and I had a very long preparation for this fight. I'm happy that it's finally here. We cannot look past any opponent. Every opponent brings a new challenge, and I need to be focused and prepared to beat him first," the 28-year-old added.
Fabricio Andrade's world title defense against Baatarkhuu will headline ONE Fight Night 38 on Dec. 5, which will be available for free to active Amazon Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
