Steveson recently featured at APFC 21 and won the fight with a stunning KO in 30 seconds. This comes after another impressive showing at Dirty Boxing 4, and Rogan was quick to praise the rising star.

The MMA commentator and podcaster was speaking on the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Podcast. Rogan brought up how the UFC’s heavyweight division lacked star power, but believed Steveson is the man for the division.

Rogan shared several attributes that Steveson had and warned the other heavyweights in the division that they were in trouble.

“The heavyweight division is so devoid of talent. Gable Steveson is the f****** guy, that’s the guy. He is not even in the UFC yet. Olympic gold medalist, f***** freak athlete, 250 pounds, moves like a cat. I sent a text message to Dana White, I sent a video of Gable’s last fight, I said ‘everyone’s f***** everyone's f***** when this guy comes out,’ he KO’d this guy with his left hand and took him down as he was knocked down.”

Rogan lauded Steveson’s athletic ability, sharing examples of how the American jumped over the top ropes of a ring after a win. He also mentioned that Steveson was training under former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, which is a bonus for the former WWE man.

Jon Jones makes huge statement for Gable Steveson

While Gable Steveson is yet to sign a deal with the UFC, it only seems to be a matter of time before that happens. Joe Rogan, during the same podcast, highlighted how Steveson was trying to get as much MMA experience as possible before moving to the UFC.

Jon Jones also lauded his pupil after Steveson’s win at APFC 21. ‘Bones’ shared a story on Instagram about Steveson’s viral KO and claimed that the 25-year-old would become the best heavyweight in a year:

"Mark my words, @gable will be the most elite heavyweight fighter on the planet within the next 12 months."

Jones also shared how Steveson was the ideal athlete and how he was like a younger version of ‘Bones’, but with one important trait:

“He’s just so committed, he’s the perfect athlete. Everything we talk about, he remembers, every combination. He has multiple coaches working with him right now, and he’s just a sponge. He reminds me a lot of myself when I was 25 years old, just, a lot more disciplined.”
