“Everyone makes mistakes” - Tawanchai PK Saenchai reacts to Liu Mengyang beating Shadow

ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai of Thailand was admittedly surprised when Liu Mengyang scored an upset victory over his compatriot Shadow Singha Mawynn.

‘Spirit Dragon’ halted Shadow's momentum by handing him a unanimous decision loss in their featherweight kickboxing battle at ONE Friday Fights 126.

Liu was struggling early on, but responded with a massive second-round knockdown that turned the tide in his favor.

Tawanchai paid close attention to that fight and recognized Shadow’s costly error, which cost him the fight.

The 26-year-old also praised the Chinese upset artist, who also holds a shocking victory over former interim ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Masaaki Noiri.

Tawanchai said during the ONE Media Day Thailand:

"Liu Mengyang is very strong and durable, but I felt a little bad for Shadow, who made a slight tactical error. He carelessly traded punches at a moment that perfectly suited Liu Mengyang. But everyone makes mistakes."

Now, it will be Tawanchai’s turn to share the ring with Liu in the main event of the promotion’s final event of 2025.

The PK Saenchai Gym superstar returns to kickboxing against Liu on Dec. 19 inside the fabled halls of Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.

Tawanchai vows best form against Liu Mengyang

Tawanchai has been out for quite some time, opting to nurse some lingering injuries since his loss to Masaaki Noiri.

With vengeance in his mind, the 26-year-old Thai superstar guarantees he's in the best physical shape ahead of his return.

The featherweight Muay Thai kingpin said in the same presser:

"My preparation has been very good, totaling almost three months. I am absolutely ready to fight at full capacity. After withdrawing from the previous match, I spent almost a month recovering. Now, I am completely healed and 100 percent ready for battle."
