While trash-talking in MMA is meant to hype up the fandom for the upcoming fight, Merab Dvalishvili's attempt to outmatch Petr Yan on the mic ahead of UFC 323 seems to have backfired, with fans weaponizing 'The Machine's' comments against him.

During the UFC 323 pre-fight media scrum, Dvalishvili proudly claimed that the only way Yan could beat him was by knocking him out, because, as he sees it, he would dominate in a five-round clash since he is a "decision machine":

"This time I'll be more technical. I will show more skill. He will be the aggressive one. He'll chase me, and I'm sure he'll try to knock me out, because that's the only way he can stop me, because if we [fight to a] decision, I'm the decision machine."

The Georgian has long been criticized for his lack of ability to finish his opponents. For context, 'The Machine' only has two finishes across 16 UFC fights. Sure enough, his proud proclamation during the presser failed to generate the reaction he intended.

According to the current betting odds, Merab Dvalishvili is a - 485 prohibitive favorite for UFC 323, with Petr Yan as a +370 underdog. The money lines might change as the pay-per-view draws closer.

As per the current odds, a successful $100 bet on 'The Machine' will return a payout of $120.63, while the same wager on the underdog could fetch winnings of $470 if Yan gets his hand raised.
