On Dec. 5, live in U.S. primetime, ‘The Tormentor’ will challenge ONE bantamweight MMA kingpin Fabricio Andrade in the main event of the stacked card inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

While confident of his chances against ‘Wonder Boy’, the 36-year-old veteran revealed his utmost respect for the Brazilian champion and his accomplishments.

Baatarkhuu told ONE Championship in his pre-event interview:

“Fabricio is very skilled and talented. He had many title fights, and he claimed the championship in his weight category. This is not something that someone with limited skills can do. He is a highly skilled, top-level fighter.”

Andrade captured the 145-pound throne by beating feared headhunter and former ONE bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker. The Evolve MMA and Tiger Muay Thai affiliate defended his crown against ‘Pretty Boy’ Kwon Won Il last January.

On the other hand, Baatarkhuu earned his shot through suffocating pressure and fearsome submission prowess.

The Mongolian powerhouse is on a three-fight winning streak, dominating No.5-ranked Jeremy Pacatiw in his last outing at ONE Fight Night 29 in March.

Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu refuses to make assumptions vs. Fabricio Andrade

Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu seemingly has the skillset to give a striking specialist like Fabricio Andrade problems.

While 'The Tormentor's' grappling prowess does give him an edge, he refuses to make bold predictions until they finally square off.

"It's difficult to say at the moment, as we haven't truly faced each other in competition. It may only become clear what level a person is at on the day of the fight, with the outcome deciding afterward," he told ONE.

ONE Fight Night 38 broadcasts live in U.S. primetime on Friday, Dec. 5, exclusively on Prime Video for North American viewers.
