Denis Puric breaks down Takeru’s lack of weaponry ahead of ONE 173: “Those are the only two things”

'The Bosnian Menace' Denis Puric of Canada and Bosnia has taken note of Takeru Segawa’s habits and tendencies ahead of their flyweight kickboxing tiff at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri.

On Nov. 16, the 40-year-old veteran will look to spoil Takeru’s return to Ariake Arena and hand him his third loss in Japan since joining ONE Championship.

A three-division K-1 Champion, Takeru is a striking icon in Japan and is beloved worldwide for his high-wire style and unrelenting courage.

However, Puric believes his superior boxing and explosive power will overcome what he sees as ‘Natural Born Krusher’s' limited striking variation.

The Soi Dogs MMA representative shared his belief in his pre-event interview with ONE Championship:

“He’s got the body toe stab that he always does, and then he does the calf kicks. But like I said, those are the only two things that he’s got that he can use against me.”

Puric has done his homework on Takeru’s best weapons, which are his crippling body kicks.

While wary of those signature strikes, Puric doubts the Japanese star's defense will hold up against his tremendous pressure.

‘The Bosnian Menace’ promises to capitalize on any openings that could lead to a knockout finish.

Denis Puric believes Takeru can dish it, but cannot take one in return.

'The Bosnian Menace' thinks he'll have a field day on the Japanese's supposed lack of defense, something he'll look to gladly exploit at ONE 173.

"I just need to land a nice shot, and I think he's going to be wobbled, at least to the point where I can finish the fight. He's not the kind of fighter who goes in there and protects himself," he told ONE Championship.

"He is quite open. I see openings, man. I see openings, and I see myself landing a left hook and putting him down."
