The UFC White House event has been the talk of the MMA world ever since U.S. president Donald Trump brought up the card a few months back. This is part of the America250 celebrations and Trump recently claimed that up to nine title fights would be on the card. While there is skepticism about this happening, TKO president Mark Shapiro shared some details about what the event is set to be like.
Shapiro was speaking at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference and confirmed that the company was looking at sponsorship routes for the event. He also added that no tickets for the event would be sold and the company still hasn’t decided on the fights for the card.
This statement caught the attention of Conor McGregor. The Irishman is keen on fighting on the card and has repeatedly stated that he will be at the event which is to be held on June 14, 2026.
McGregor posted an Instagram story replying to Shapiro’s claims of tickets not being sold. The former two-division UFC champion wrote that he would be having tickets, suggesting that he could be at the event in some capacity.

Dana White backs Conor McGregor over Jon Jones
UFC CEO Dana White has stated that fight negotiations for the White House event will start from February. He's also said that he is not willing to put Jon Jones on the card.
White is still upset with Jones for declining the fight against Tom Aspinall, despite signing a deal. While ‘Bones’ has pleaded with the UFC CEO for a spot on the card, White doesn’t seem interested in that.
White was speaking on the FLAGRANT podcast and backed Conor McGregor’s professionalism over Jones’.
“I haven’t said yes or no to anybody yet, but I can’t put Jon Jones in a position where he can… I had a deal with him to fight Tom Aspinall, we had a deal and he said, ‘I am not going to do it.’”
He lauded McGregor and even brought up how the Irishman saved cards at the last minute:
“I can’t be in that position. People talk sh** about McGregor. McGregor, when you walk into that room, three days out from the fight, your opponent fell out... [McGregor will be like] 'Just let me know who I’ll fight.' You say whatever you want about Conor. Conor’s been that guy.”
