Former two-division ONE world champion Aung La N Sang of Myanmar plans to pay it forward after closing the chapter to his illustrious professional career.
At ONE 173, ‘The Burmese Python’ became the third inductee to the promotion’s Hall of Fame.
Shortly after accepting the honor, Aung La spoke to combat sports journalist Nick Atkin about his new mission which is honing the next great fighters from Myanmar.
"Thank you very much to my Burmese friends. So thank you so much for all my friends that supported me and was with me this whole, you know, this whole career. The next career is starting and I cannot wait and the next generation is going to be a lot better than me.”

The 40-year-old MMA legend continued:
“I promise you that. You know, these guys are going to be killers and they'll be able to deal with everybody from around the world, right?"
Aung La’s plan is already in motion after opening Python MMA gym in Florida, where he spearheads the development of the next generation.
The Myanmar hero’s fighting days may be over, but his influence and legacy live on through his next endeavor.

Aung La delivers heartfelt parting message
Beyond fighting, Aung La N Sang has been a beacon of hope for the Burmese people.
The former two-division MMA world champion may have been one of the most ferocious fighters in the Circle, but arguably one of the nicest guys outside of it.
In the same interview with Nick Atkin, Aung La shared one final message of positivity:
"Community is everything, and we need to be good people. We need to make this world a better place. And I think that's, if anything, that's the most important image, you know, that's the most important message, you know, from me is to do what you love, but most importantly, make this world a better place."
