Arman Tsarukyan’s frustration has made him pivot toward a fight he believes is still worthy of his place in the division. The lightweight contender wants a shot at the BMF title against Max Holloway after being bypassed for the interim belt at UFC 324.

The UFC moved forward with Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett for the interim championship while Ilia Topuria takes time away to address personal matters.

Speaking in a recent interview with ESPN, Tsarukyan said:

"It's a business. At the end of the day, I have the same goal. Everybody knows that I will beat everybody, and it's just [a matter of] time. I hope they give me the BMF title at least. What are they going to give me? Who do we have in our division to fight if it's not Holloway?"

Holloway is coming off a strong win over Dustin Poirier and remains one of the most active and respected names available. The fight would give Tsarukyan a meaningful challenge while keeping him in the title mix. He also believes the promotion is investing heavily in Pimblett’s rise and hopes Gaethje halts that momentum in January.

Michael Bisping reacts to the narrative that Arman Tsarukyan was denied a title shot

Michael Bisping believes the UFC made the correct call in booking Justin Gaethje against Paddy Pimblett for the interim lightweight title and does not feel Arman Tsarukyan was wronged. With Ilia Topuria taking time away, the promotion chose two established names to launch its new broadcast era.

Bisping sees the matchup as a strong fit for the division’s current landscape and expects a competitive main event in January. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said:

"Do you think Arman Tsarukyan should have got it? I don't. Paddy and Justin have been right there for a little bit, Arman was kind of out on the sidelines... I did think Paddy was kind of the frontrunner. Certainly, after he stepped into the octagon when Ilia Topuria knocked out Charles Oliveira."

He added:

"I'm telling you, this man [Gaethje] is no joke, and neither is Paddy Pimblett. We saw last time against Michael Chandler, he is the real deal. He absolutely smoked him. He's undefeated in the UFC, put a beating on Michael Chandler. Let's remember, Chandler went toe-to-toe with Gaethje, gave Dustin Poirier a good run, and knocked out Dan Hooker, so it's not like he's a bum. Yes, he hasn't been winning fights but Paddy made it look different. He beat the living hell out of him."
