Dvalishvili and Yan are set to throw down in a bantamweight title rematch this weekend at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. In their first encounter, Dvalishvili dominated Yan over five rounds to win via unanimous decision. If the Georgian-born grappling savant beats Yan again, he'll make history as the first UFC champion to secure four title defenses in one calendar year.

Dvalishvili is on an incredible 14-fight win streak and is widely known for his impressive cardio in the cage. His seemingly limitless gas tank helps him maintain pressure on his opponents by pushing a relentless pace with his grappling.

When Merab Dvalishvili pointed out the "biggest mistake" Petr Yan made in their first fight

Earlier this year, Merab Dvalishvili shared a brief preview of his title rematch against Petr Yan and pointed out the Russian fighter's "biggest mistake" in their first encounter.

In an appearance on the Believe You Me! podcast with Michael Bisping and Paul Felder (via @RedCorner_MMA on X), Dvalishvili said:

"In the first fight, I was nervous and stressed. It was another pressure to fight against Petr Yan. Now, I'm more mature. I'm comfortable now, but I don't want too comfortable, because I'm sure Petr Yan will fix the mistake he made in the first fight."

He added:

"The biggest mistake Petr made was that he didn’t respect me in the first fight. He thought I wouldn’t be able to do anything against him. That was his biggest mistake. Whatever I was better at, I’m sure he’s going to fix it, and I have to be an even better version."
