“An incredible ride” - Aung La N Sang delivers inspirational farewell speech to fans after Hall of Fame induction at ONE 173

Former ONE middleweight and light heavyweight MMA world champion, Myanmar legend ‘The Burmese Python’ Aung La N Sang was a special guest last Sunday at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri.

Just a month prior, Aung La N Sang defeated former welterweight MMA king Zebaztian ‘The Bandit’ Kadestam via TKO in the final fight of his professional career. Afterward, the Florida resident announced his retirement from pro MMA.

Aung La N Sang was then invited to ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri, to be inducted into the ONE Championship Hall of Fame.

‘The Burmese Python’ had this to say about the honor:

“ONE Championship has been an incredible ride for me, and arigatou to all my fans, especially like my fans in Myanmar. Thank you for all the love and support, and my fans all over the world. I'm not gonna make a long speech because we've already done the speech over there, but thank you so much. You know, ONE Championship is about the love of martial arts, and let's just make this world a better place. One love, guys.”

At his peak, Aung La N Sang was one of the most prolific world champions in the world’s largest martial arts organization. He delivered explosive performances with the greatest stakes, and brought honor to Myanmar on the global stage.

What’s next for ‘The Burmese Python’ Aung La N Sang?

The 40-year-old former double champ now runs his own gym in South Florida, where he says he will be guiding the next generation of MMA hopefuls.

He added:

“Thank you, Chatri, ONE Championship. This is not going to be the last time you're gonna see me. I'm gonna bring a stronger next generation. I'm gonna be raising an army at Python MMA and you’re going to see me back very soon, all right? Not myself, but with the next generation. The next generation will be better than me. Let's go.”
