Minecraft players are eagerly waiting for the release of the last game drop of 2025; Mounts of Mayhem. This one is going to be special for many reasons, including new mobs, weapons, and some great quality-of-life improvements. But there is one thing that many players might not realize right now; this game drop is going to be one of the most chaotic updates of all time.

The world of Minecraft is massive but this also works against the game because the blocky world often feels empty and dead. Thankfully, the upcoming Mounts of Mayhem game drop will add some life to this world. Not only that, but it will make players stay on their toes while exploring the world. Here’s why.

As the name of the game drop suggests, it is mostly about mobs that can be mounted. The zombie horse mob, camel husk, the nautilus and its zombie variant are the upcoming additions to the blocky world. That covers the “mount” part but to cause the mayhem, Mojang Studios are also giving them riders.

For example, the zombie horse was a part of the game for years but it could only be accessed through spawn eggs or commands. However, after the update, this undead horse will spawn with the zombie as the rider. Not only that, but the zombie will be holding the spear so fighting it won’t be too easy.

The same goes for the underwater world. While players can tame and ride the nautilus mob, the drowned is also getting the zombie nautilus as the mount. Trying to evade the trident it throws while maneuvering the nautilus underwater will be quite the challenge. The threat of the desert has also been increased with the camel husk mob and the parched riding it.

In summary, the blocky world of Minecraft will now be filled with a lot of hostile mobs riding a mount and carrying the powerful spear weapon. After the game drop releases, fighting hostile mobs is not going to be just brainless zombies walking straight into danger. Players will have to be careful while fighting these jockey mobs holding the spear.

The great thing is that there have been some smaller changes that even out the chaos caused by the hostile mobs. For example, now players can easily swim while being on their horses.

This was a change that was sorely needed. Players can also craft the netherite horse armor which would be needed to absorb the impact of the spear weapon. Mounts of Mayhem for Minecraft update will release on December 9.
