Minecraft 1.21.11 update for Java Edition: What we know so far

Minecraft fans are very excited for the upcoming 1.21.11 update, also known as the Mounts of Mayhem game drop. The fourth and final update of this year was announced during the Live event and it had some interesting features such as the new nautilus mob and the spear weapon. But ever since the announcement, the developers have added more items and features to the list.

This article will look at everything that has been confirmed for the upcoming Mounts of Mayhem. Do note that since all these features are in their beta stage and the final version can differ. Also, Mojang Studios might add more features before the final release of the update.

Initially, there were just two things that were in the headlines for the Mounts of Mayhem game drop; spear weapon and the nautilus mob. However, more new things have been added to this list. There are three main categories of new items coming to the game; items, mobs, and gameplay features. Let's start with every new mob announced for Java 1.21.11 update.

Mounts of Mayhem game drop will bring the nautilus mob, the parched, camel husk, and the zombie nautilus to the blocky world. The nautilus and the zombie nautilus are underwater mobs that players can ride to explore the oceans. You can also equip armors on these mobs to improve combat abilities.

The parched is the desert variant of the skeleton mob and it will be riding the camel husk along with the husk zombie. The camel husk is the undead variant of the camel mob and once you get rid of the husk and the parched, you will be able to ride the camel husk.

The zombie horse will also be added to the game. However, it was already present in Minecraft but could only be spawned in Creative mode or by using commands. The undead variants of the mobs such as nautilus, camel, and horse will spawn with a rider on them, turning them hostile. Once the hostile rider is removed, the mobs become passive.

There are some interesting items that will make their way to the blocky world with the new update, most notably the spear weapon. This new item will change the combat experience in Minecraft for the better as it brings two new attack types. It has many interesting mechanics that you will have to learn to master the weapon.

Players are finally getting the netherite horse armor, something that was long overdue. Just like crafting normal netherite armor, you can also make one for the horse by combining netherite upgrade, a diamond horse armor, and a netherite block in the smithing table.

The nautilus armor is another item that can be found in shipwrecks and loot chests. You can craft it using all the metals in the game and there’s even a netherite version that offers the best protection. The game will also get spawn eggs for all the four upcoming mobs.

With all the new items and mobs, there are also some new gameplay changes such as new advancements, status effect, and even enhancements. For example, Minecraft is getting the “Mob Kabob” advancement when you hit five mobs in a single charged attack of the spear. New death messages will be coming to the game as well.

The Breath of the Nautilus is a new status effect that allows you to breathe underwater when you are riding the nautilus mob. This makes underwater exploration much more fun without the need for any special potions.

A new Lunge enchantment has been added for the spear weapon and it has three levels. With this enchantment, you will be propelled ahead when executing the jab attack, increasing the damage power of the upcoming weapon and also notching up the game's difficulty as well.
