With Java Edition already receiving pre-release snapshots for Mounts of Mayhem, Minecraft's highly anticipated new game drop is not far from release. This year's final game drop brings many exciting features, ranging from new weapons and enchantments to hordes of new enemies for players to keep an eye out for.
The Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem game drop brings three new undead mobs to the game: parched, camel husk, and zombie nautilus. Apart from these, Mojang is also adding zombie horses to survival mode. This mob has existed in the game for over a decade but could previously only be spawned using commands and spawn eggs.
Let's dive deep into the new undead mobs of Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem.

Undead mobs in Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem game drop
1) Parched

Parched is a new variant of skeletons that will spawn in the deserts of Minecraft. It has a light brown texture similar to husks. These skeletons can shoot arrows of weakness, which inflict the Weakness effect for 30 seconds. Similar to strays, you can farm parched for their special arrows, but you cannot turn regular skeletons into parched.
As parched can drop arrows of weakness, players might want to farm them for a steady supply of the Weakness effect to cure villagers and use Minecraft's villager trading mechanic to get various resources. Since it is an undead mob of the desert, parched has adapted to the sun and does not burn in it like skeletons and strays.
2) Camel husk

Camel, a mob added in the Trails & Tales update in 2023, is getting a new variation in the Mounts of Mayhem game drop. While exploring the desert at night, players may come across a camel husk with a husk and a parched riding it. The husk controls the camel husk's movement, while the parched shoots arrows at its target.
If you manage to defeat both the husk and the parched, the camel husk becomes a free mount for you to tame. Camel husks are similar to regular camels but cannot be bred. You can put a saddle on a camel husk and use it as a mount to explore Minecraft.
3) Zombie nautilus

With the Mounts of Mayhem game drop, Mojang is also bringing a new mob to the oceans of Minecraft. Players will be able to find a new peaceful mount called the nautilus in ocean biomes. But that is not all. Oceans have become more dangerous as well, as nautilus can also spawn as zombie nautilus with a drowned zombie riding it.
Like camel husks, once you have dealt with the drowned, you can tame a zombie nautilus using pufferfish or a bucket of pufferfish. If you are in a warm ocean biome, you may come across the rare coral zombie nautilus variant. These are incredibly beautiful and are definitely worth taming.
4) Zombie horse

While zombie horses are not technically new to Minecraft, they are worth mentioning as they are now available in survival mode. The zombie horse has gone through a slight texture update in the Mounts of Mayhem game drop. Like the camel husk and zombie nautilus, you cannot breed zombie horses to get a zombie foal.
Players also cannot feed regular horse food to zombie horses. For some reason, this undead mount prefers to eat only red mushrooms, which are also the way to heal them. Zombie horses will spawn at night in the Overworld with a zombie riding them. This zombie will always wield an iron spear and can charge at players.
Mounts of Mayhem is set to make Minecraft a bit more chaotic for players with the addition of new undead jockeys. Be careful when venturing out at night in the upcoming game drop.
