All Minecraft weapons ranked after Mounts of Mayhem update

In Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem game drop, Mojang released the new spear. It is a first-tier melee weapon that has two kinds of attacks, and its attack damage increases with the player's speed. After this update, the game now has seven basic melee and ranged weapons to choose from. Each of them has its strengths and weaknesses.

Here are all Minecraft weapons ranked from worst to best.

7) Crossbow

A crossbow is a ranged weapon that can shoot arrows in Minecraft. Though its arrow shots are stronger than bows, it is not better since it takes a long time to reload. The only scenario in which a crossbow might be better than a bow is when a horde of enemies is attacking. Several of its enchantments, like multishot and piercing, can be quite useful in these scenarios.

Spear is the newest weapon that was added with Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem. It has two kinds of attacks: jab and charge. The jab attack is a regular attack while standing, and the charge attack is when players hold the interaction button and move towards their enemy. As mentioned above, the attack damage during a charge increases with the player's movement speed.

However, this weapon is not the best, especially because of how time-consuming it is to use, and it cannot be thrown like a traditional spear. Though it is one of the easiest weapons to get, a trident is a much better spear alternative.

5) Mace

Mace is a relatively new weapon that was added with the Tricky Trials update. It is a heavy-hitting, hammer-like weapon. The mace's attack damage increases with the fall height of the player using it. The higher the player falls on the enemy and time their attack, the more damage the mace will do. This made mace one of the most interesting weapons in Minecraft.

One of the main reasons why it is not the best weapon to use is its rarity. Mace can only be crafted using the rare heavy core and breeze rods. Furthermore, the mace is quite slow when used as a normal melee weapon due to its weight.

4) Trident

Trident is a unique, uncraftable weapon in Minecraft, because it can be used both as a melee and a ranged weapon. Players can do a jab-like attack with it, and also throw it towards enemies as well. It has loads of exclusive enchantments that make the weapon quite unique. For example, there is an enchantment to summon lightning, while another one allows players to propel forward if they are wet.

Though it is a great weapon and also a tool, the only downside is that it is rare. It only has a small chance to be dropped by a drowned zombie, which itself has a small chance of spawning with one.

3) Axe

An axe is one of the most common tools and weapons that players use. Though it is primarily used to chop down trees or any wood-related block, it can also be used as a strong weapon.

Though axe deals more damage than the sword, it takes more time to recharge to full effect before dealing a full attack once again. There can be many players who prefer axe mechanics more than the sword's.

Bow is arguably the best ranged weapon in Minecraft since arrows can be reloaded onto it quickly, and it has the special infinity enchantment, which is extremely useful. The power-up allows players to shoot infinite arrows, as long as one arrow is in their inventory. A bow is also one of the easiest weapons to make, requiring only sticks and strings.

It is safe to say that the sword is the most common weapon in Minecraft. It is easy to craft with even the basic earth materials, and it can deal a decent amount of damage to enemies. Sharpness enchantments can also be applied to it to increase its attack damage.
