Tamil Thalaivas released an official statement following the controversy during their Pro Kabaddi 2025 campaign. Head coach Sanjeev Baliyan had made some shocking revelations against the management.

After their last match of the season against the Bengal Warriorz, he accused the management. According to Sanjeev Baliyan, the coach had no say in selecting the starting seven.

"Changing the team is not in the hands of Arjun or the coach. The analyst is there. They make the team. They can only make changes. It is not in the coach's hands. In fact, he is told what the first seven is at the start of the game. So what can Arjun or the coach really do?" he had stated during the post-match press conference.

However, Tamil Thalaivas came out with an official statement on X. The franchise denied the allegations. The statement said that the Head coach had complete authority and freedom.

"The Head Coach was given complete authority and freedom over all sporting matters, including team selection, training, and tactics throughout the season. Before signing, he was fully briefed on the squad composition, including existing NYP and RYP retention, as well as the club's long-standing philosophy of developing young players. Every request made during the auction and the season was supported to ensure he had the team he wanted. At no stage did the management or analysts interfere in these matters. Any suggestion or remark to the contrary is entirely unfounded," the statement read.

The statement further added that the management also received complaints from players against the coaching staff during training and matches.

Tamil Thalaivas had a disappointing run in Pro Kabaddi 2025

While the Tamil Thalaivas failed to make the playoffs, they had a disappointing outing in Pro Kabaddi 2025. The Thalaivas finished tenth on the table with six wins from 18 matches.

At one stage, they were well in contention to make the playoffs. However, they suffered five consecutive defeats in their last five matches.

They were heavily reliant on skipper Arjun Deshwal after Pawan Sehrawat was sent back home earlier. Arjun scored 209 raid points but had no support from others. Similarly, Nitesh Kumar bagged 65 tackle points but had no help from the rest of the defense.
