PREMA Racing entered a partnership with four-time IndyCar champion Alex Palou's racing team, Palou Motorsport. PREMA will assist the Spaniard's team in the 2026 Eurocup-3 championship with engineering support in multiple areas throughout the year.
Palou Motorsport was established in January 2023 by Alex Palou and his father, Ramon Palou, to race in the Eurocup-3 championship, which was founded the same year as an alternative to the FIA-sanctioned Formula Regional championships.
PREMA Racing Team Principal Rene Rosin shared his feelings about this new partnership in a press release, saying:
"We are happy to partner with Alex and Ramon Palou for this programme. They have been growing a lot as a team, and our goal is to support them as they enter the new era of Eurocup-3 with the goal of becoming top contenders. We have extreme respect for what Alex and Ramon have accomplished so far, and we can't wait to see where this collaboration will take us."
Alex Palou shared his reaction to the announcement via an Instagram story. He wrote:
"Huge!!! I can't wait for 2026😎"
There seems to be no doubt that the catalyst to this partnership has been PREMA Racing's IndyCar debut in 2025, where it shared the paddock with Palou. The Italian team's future in IndyCar remains uncertain, with it looking for sponsorships to keep its ship afloat in 2026.
Though the team hasn't shared any updates on that front, there have been positive signs. The team has booked preseason test days next year, and Callum Ilott, who piloted PREMA's No. 90 Chevrolet this year, indirectly confirmed the team's outlook by saying that he'll dovetail his IndyCar commitments with a full-time IMSA schedule with Wright Motorsports next year.

Palou Motorsport has been sufficiently successful in the Eurocup-3 championship in the two seasons since its inception. The team secured three podiums in the inaugural season and finished third in the rookie championship.
Palou Motorsport secured its first race win in the series earlier this year. As the Eurocup-3 championship enters a new technical era in 2026, moving on from the Tatuus F3 T318 car to Toyota-powered Dallara 326 machinery, PREMA Racing's engineering support to Alex Palou's team will prove pivotal.
Speaking about this partnership, the four-time IndyCar champion's father, Ramon Palou, said:
"I’m really happy and excited about the collaboration we’ve just started with PREMA Racing. I couldn’t imagine a better partner to help us develop the new car we’ll be using in Eurocup-3 from 2026 onward."
"For a young structure like Palou Motorsport, having the support of one of the world’s leading single-seater teams is something truly extraordinary. I want to personally thank both Angelina (Ertsou, PREMA's team manager) and Rene (Rosin) for the effort they’ve put into making this collaboration a reality."
PREMA Racing is one of the most successful teams in the European junior Formula categories. It has helped many young drivers progress to F1, including 2025 F1 rookies Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Bearman.
