Juncos Hollinger Racing has finally ended the suspense around its second driver situation for the 2026 IndyCar season by officially confirming Sting Ray Robb's contract. This year, Robb's manager had intermittently spread word in the paddock that the 24-year-old was already on a multi-year contract extending into 2026.

However, JHR never confirmed the same. In October, even when it announced the signing of Rinus Veekay as the team's "lead driver" for 2026, the press release didn't mention anything about the second driver or Robb. Team principal Dave O'Neil mentioned that Veekay would be an integral part of their "refreshed lineup."

Moreover, the doubts increased when the JHR website no longer had Robb's name on the driver's page. Rinus Veekay had his picture and bio, but the page for the second driver read "TBA".

However, on Tuesday, Juncos Hollinger Racing confirmed Sting Ray Robb's return to pilot the No. 77 entry in 2026.

"This season is massive for me, and I'm embracing it fully," Robb said (via Indyar). "It's my first opportunity to run with the same team for a second season, and I'm ready for what it demands. The key for me is the continuity – working with the established team people and the newer faces we all trust, with everyone focused on elevating across all areas."

Robb will be the team's junior/second driver, supporting new teammate Veekay in helping take Juncos Hollinger Racing to a new level. The Argentinian-American team will enter a new era next year.

Juncos Hollinger Racing team principal Dave O'Neil spoke highly of Sting Ray Robb's presence in the team in 2025, and how he expects the new driver lineup with Rinus Veekay to give the team the right "firepower" to leapfrog its rivals.

For JHR, having Robb on board for another season gives them a sense of continuity and stability. With Veekay already having replaced veteran Conor Daly, another new driver could've added to the short-term challenges the team would've faced next season.

"Sting Ray is a key pillar in the structure we’re building for 2026," O'Neil said. "His commitment and approach match the ambition driving this team forward. We took meaningful steps this year, but we know there’s far more potential to unlock, and 2026 is our chance to convert that progress into real performance gains."

Elaborating on how Sting Ray Robb and Rinus Veekay would complement each other to give Juncos Hollinger Racing a complete package, he added:

"With the continuity Sting Ray provides, combined with the pace, experience, and race-winning pedigree Rinus brings, we believe this lineup gives us the firepower to move up the order quickly."

Robb didn't have a notable season with JHR this year. His best result was a P9 at the Long Beach Grand Prix, matching his career-best result with AJ Foyt Racing at Gateway 2024.
