The Indian boxing team showed amazing strength at the World Boxing Cup Finals 2025, which took place in Greater Noida. The country finished the championship with a massive haul of 20 medals, proving their status as a major boxing nation.

India Won Nine Gold Medals at the World Boxing Cup Finals

India secured nine gold medals, with the women boxers leading the charge in spectacular fashion. The champions include Minakshi Hooda, who won the 48kg title, and world champion Nikhat Zareen, who dominated the 51kg category with a unanimous decision win. Preeti Pawar was another star, taking gold in the 54kg division, closely followed by Jaismine Lamboria, who won the 57kg title.

Parveen Hooda added to the gold tally by winning the 60kg final, and the heavier weight classes saw Arundhati Choudhary secure the 70kg gold and Nupur Sheoran win the 80+kg crown.

The men's team contributed two impressive gold medals: Sachin Siwach, who defeated his opponent in the 60kg division, and Hitesh Gulia, who showed great fight to win the 70kg gold medal match in a close contest.


Eleven Other Podium Finishes for India at the World Boxing Cup Finals

Besides the nine gold medals, India added six silver and five bronze medals to complete the final tally of 20. The silver medal winners included Olympian Pooja Rani in the women's 80kg category. The men's team had a tougher time in their finals, resulting in five silver medals: Jadumani Singh in 50kg, Pawan Bartwal in 55kg, Abhinash Jamwal in 65kg, Ankush Phangal in 80kg, and Narender Berwal in the 90+kg weight class.

The five bronze medals came from boxers who reached the semi-finals. These bronze winners included Neeraj Phogat (women's 65kg) and Saweety Boora (women's 75kg). The men's side saw Sumit Kundu (75kg), Jugnoo (85kg), and Naveen (90kg) all earn a spot on the podium, wrapping up a highly successful tournament for the Indian contingent where every participant went home with a medal.
