The highly competitive Khelo India University Games 2025 came to a spectacular end in Rajasthan, concluding a remarkable 12 days display of sporting talent from across India. The final day was marked by high-stakes battles, especially in track and field, which ultimately determined the overall championship title.
Going into the final day, the race for the top was incredibly close, mainly between Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) and the reigning table-toppers from the last edition, Chandigarh University (CU).
The atmosphere was electric as athletes took part in the last decisive events, where every single medal contributed to the final medal tally. The competition reached its peak with the conclusion of the long-distance races, including the 10000m, which demanded incredible endurance from the participants.
Simultaneously, the field events saw massive throws and impressive record-breaking performances, such as Samardeep Singh Gill’s superb effort in the men’s shot put, where he bettered the All India University record with a throw of 19.42m.

Chandigarh University ends on top of Khelo India University Games Table with 41 Gold Medals
Chandigarh University capitalized significantly on the last day's athletic and team victories, pushing past their rival universities and confirming their dominance across multiple disciplines. Their consistent performance, including a strong showing in wrestling and shooting events throughout the Games, solidified their position at the very top. This exceptional push secured their place as the undisputed champions of the Khelo India University Games 2025, successfully retaining the top spot from the previous year.
With all 23 medal sports wrapped up, the final count confirms Chandigarh University as the clear winner with a total of 41 Gold medals and 65 total medals. Following a hard-fought battle, Guru Nanak Dev University finished as the strong runners-up with 32 Gold medals. Jain University also secured a respectable third position with 29 Gold.
Lovely Professional University rounded out the top four with 28 Gold medals, but impressively held the highest total medal count of 70 among all institutions.
