The Mumbai Smashers franchise has picked up six players for the upcoming Indian Pickleball League (IPBL), slated to be held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. The team assembled by Absolute Sports, backed by Nazara Technologies, will compete in the inaugural edition of the league, which will begin on December 1.

Recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, the Indian Pickleball League happens to be India's only league for the fast-growing and vastly popular racket sport.

The tournament is set to feature a mix of the best Indian and international talent, with the Mumbai Smashers acquiring their prime pick Quang Duong at the auction in addition to Rishi Reddy, Ammol Ramchandani, Allison Harris, Pearl Amalsadiwala, and Sindoor Mittal.

Quang Dong, a US-based Vietnamese player who turned professional in 2023, has made a name for himself on the pickleball circuit after having dabbled in tennis and table tennis.

Quang, who is the top Asian Player as per the Pickleball rankings, has a DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) score of 6.865 in the Men's Singles category. The Vietnamese-American teenager is also a force to reckon with in doubles, with a DUPR rating of 6.602 and is on top of the pack of Asian players as per the updated rankings.

Quang Dong will undoubtedly be the player to watch out for when the Indian Pickleball League debuts in December.

Allison Harris, a player from Central Arkansas, who first excelled in tennis with a DUPR singles rating of 5.71, was one of the top names in the Super Star Female International Category at the auction. Harris, who has a DUPR doubles rating of 5.863, is expected to play a key role for the Mumbai franchise at the Indian Pickleball League.

Meanwhile, Rishi Reddy, who switched from padel to pickleball, has a DUPR Singles rating of 5.146, but is sure to come in handy for the Mumbai Smashers in doubles as well. Ranked at 16, as per the National PWR Rankings, Rishi Reddy has earned a DUPR rating of 4.693 in doubles and came into the auction as part of the Rising Star Male category.

Pearl Amalsadiwala, who made news at the Open Women's Doubles Finals of the 2025 Indian Pickleball Nationals in Bangalore while partnering Naomi Amalsadiwala, has been a prize pick for the Mumbai Smashers.

A DUPR rating of 5.17 outlines her doubles prowess. Amalsadiwala has a singles DUPR rating of 4.279 and entered the auction in the Super Star Female Category.

A silver medalist at the 2025 Pickleball World Cup in the Women’s Open Doubles 5.0, Sindoor Mittal, came into the auction as a player in the Rising Star Female category. With a DUPR singles rating of 4.02 and doubles rating of 4.347, Mittal, who also happens to be a leading figure in the corporate world, has also won a doubles title at the IPA Nationals.

With strong performances to show for at recent pickleball events, Ammol Ramchandani, who boasts of a DUPR singles rating of 5.102 and a doubles rating of 5.047, was also bought by the Mumbai Smashers at the player auction.
