Her record-breaking effort at the KIUG 2025 is the latest step in a journey of consistent high performance. Aleena recently touched the 13.15m mark at the Interstate Athletics Championships in August 2025, where she earned a Silver medal. She had also won a Silver in the Triple Jump at the earlier edition of the KIUG in 2024.

Expressing her delight at winning the gold medal, she said:

“This was not my best jump, as the climate was not suitable for me. I have a personal best of 13.30m and was looking to break my personal best, but I am happy that I won a gold medal.”

She further elaborated on her triumph and said:

“I had a plan to break the record of 12.78m, but after coming to Jaipur, I found out that the weather is not suitable for me, so I was not expecting to break the record. I am very thankful to God, my parents, and my coaches for believing in me, and I am happy I was able to reward them by winning the gold medal and breaking the Meet record.”

This was not her first Khelo India Games, as she participated in last year's event too and won a silver medal with 12.58m.

Aleena's focus, however, has already shifted towards further success.

“I have started practicing with my new coach Biju sir, and the new practice sessions are helping me perform even better. Next year I want to touch the 14m mark and participate in the Asian Games. I do not have a specific map of events I am going to participate in, but the ultimate goal is to participate in the Asian Games. I am also working on my gym routine and weight training sessions to cross the 14m mark,” said Aleena.
