The Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025 in Rajasthan delivered an action-packed Day 10, marked by exceptional performances and intense competition, completely shifting the medal tally. The biggest headline was the dramatic rise of Chandigarh University, which helped them catch the pole position, demonstrating the depth of its talent pool.

By the end of the day, Chandigarh University had secured a commanding lead with a total haul of 33 gold, 13 silver, and 9 bronze medals. This brilliant performance saw them overtake the previous best performers Guru Nanak Dev University, who are now second in the medal tally with 31 gold medals.

Chandigarh University's jump to the number one position was mainly due to their incredible success in the water sports, particularly Canoe & Kayaking. The university athletes showed complete dominance by winning an astonishing nine out of the ten gold medals available in the discipline.

This clean sweep in Udaipur highlighted their focused preparation and skill. Away from the water, they also showed strength in team sports, clinching a valuable men's team gold medal in Table Tennis, solidifying their place at the top of the overall standings and showcasing why they are the defending champions.

While Chandigarh was collecting medals, the athletics arena at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur was ablaze with record-breaking efforts. Day 10 saw four more records being broken by determined athletes. This continued the trend of outstanding performances, pushing the total number of meet records broken in this edition of the Khelo India University Games to an impressive nine, showing that India’s university level sports are continuously raising the bar for competition.

Meet Records Broken by Athletes at Day 10 of Khelo India University Games 2025

The men's track events provided some of the most thrilling moments of the day. In the 110m hurdles, Shintomon CB of Mahatma Gandhi University powered his way to a new meet record with a time of 14.32 seconds, defeating former record holders.

The men’s 4x400m relay race was a nail-biter that kept spectators on the edge of their seats, where Panjab University ultimately claimed the gold and set a new meet record (3:12.40s). Notably, Mumbai University, which finished second, also ran faster than the previous record, showing the high level of current competition.

The women’s field events were equally impressive. Sanya Yadav from Guru Kashi University threw her way into the record books in the Discus Throw with a huge distance of 50.73m. In the Women’s Triple Jump, Aleena T Saji of Mahatma Gandhi University flew to a distance of 13.09m, securing gold and a new meet record.

Even the silver medalist in this event, Arshdeep Kaur, managed to surpass the previous best mark, underlining the exceptional quality of performance in the competition.

The shooting range saw high-profile action as Paris Olympics bronze medalist Sarabjot Singh, paired with Palak, won the gold in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event for Panjab University. Furthermore, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) celebrated a historic win, clinching their first-ever women's hockey gold medal in the history of the Khelo India University Games.
