Indian Pickleball League 2025: Mumbai Smashers play out first ever draw of IPBL history against Lucknow Leopards

December 2, 2025 will always be remembered in Indian Pickleball League history because the first drawn encounter of the tournament took place on this date. Mumbai Smashers played out an entertaining 3-3 draw against the Lucknow Leopards at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.

It was the fifth tie of the Indian Pickleball League 2025. Mumbai Smashers lost their opening tie against the Chennai Super Warriors on December 1, but they improved their performance and earned three points against the Lucknow Leopards. Mumbai won the men's singles, women's singles and women's doubles matches in the tie.

Lucknow trailed by 1-3, having won only the men's doubles rubber in the first four matches. However, the Lucknow-based franchise managed to win the Grand Rally to ensure that the Mumbai Smashers did not walk away with a win.

Quang Duong of Mumbai Smashers won the Male Player of the Match award for his 15-8 win against Aditya Ruhela. Meanwhile, Allison Harris won the Female Player of the Match award for defeating Shelby Bates by 15-14.

Chennai Super Warriors registered their 2nd win of Indian Pickleball League 2025

Two more ties happened on December 2 in IPBL 2025. The opening tie of the evening featured the Chennai Super Warriors and the Hyderabad Royals. Having defeated the Mumbai Smashers in their first match, the Super Warriors continued their winning momentum and recorded a 4-2 win against the Royals.

The epic encounter between Mumbai Smashers and Lucknow Leopards followed the Chennai vs Hyderabad game. In the third tie of the evening, Capital Warriors Gurgaon beat the Bengaluru Blasters by 4-2. Bengaluru started brilliantly by winning the men's singles and men's doubles matches, but the Capital Warriors bounced back in style and won all other matches to end the tie with a 4-2 scoreline.

After the first two days of IPBL 2025, only the Mumbai Smashers and Bengaluru Blasters are yet to record an outright win in a tie in the Indian Pickleball League.
