What role does Michael play in GTA Online A Safehouse in the Hills DLC

Rockstar Games surprised their entire fanbase by revealing Michael De Santa in GTA Online A Safehouse in the Hills DLC. Ever since the game arrived in 2013, players have craved for Michael to return as a character in the multiplayer title. While other protagonists, Trevor and Franklin, returned in GTA Online, Michael was featured nowhere, until now.

Welcoming you to the neighborhood

First, you need to know that Michael will only appear in GTA Online when you purchase a mansion. Otherwise, you will not be able to see him in the game.

To purchase a new mansion, you need to open the browser on your mobile, head to the new Prix Luxury Real Estate website, and purchase one of the three mansions.

Once you do so and enter your mansion, a cutscene will begin where Michael and his wife, Amanda, will welcome you to the neighborhood. He will offer you a bottle of champagne as a house-warming gift and speak to you in private about your past missions, specifically Diamond Casino or Cayo Perico heists.

The De Santas will take a tour of your house and also speak with Mr. Faber, who happens to take a shower in your newly bought mansion. Michael will advise you to stay away from Faber, then leave the mansion.

Though he will ask you to keep in touch, you will not be able to contact him in any way through your phone.

Helping you protect your mansion

After Michael welcomes you to the neighborhood, Michael will not appear in the game until you complete all the Avi Schwartzman missions called KnoWay out.

In these missions, Avi urges you to destroy the KnoWay business by destroying the self-driving cars, stealing data from them, and much more. These missions are essentially like the Cluckin' Bell Farm Raid, with a finale at the end that pays $525,000.

Once you complete Avi's missions, he calls you to warn that KnoWay mercenaries are raiding your mansion. After entering and killing some of them, you are taken out by a mercenary, but are saved by Michael, who enters the basement with a gun.

Though your AI Assistant starts malfunctioning, you and Michael get out of the mansion and obliterate every mercenary. Finally, you and Michael share a champagne at the mansion, after which he leaves.

In conclusion, Michael De Santa becomes your ally in GTA Online A Safehouse in the Hills DLC, welcoming you to the neighborhood and helping you secure your mansion.

As of now, Rockstar Games has not revealed whether the popular GTA 5 protagonist will feature in any future updates or drip-feed missions.
