How to complete KnoWay Out mission 5 A Clean Break in GTA Online A Safehouse in the Hills update

The KnoWay Out mission series introduced in GTA Online: A Safehouse in the Hills DLC has you infiltrating an AI-powered robotaxi company and stop their operations. The company is revealed to be run by the FIB, who are using it to spy on everyone, including you, the player. Naturally, to save your criminal career from an early retirement, you have to stop them from gathering evidence on you. Avi Schwartzman will be helping you out through the course of the missions.

The final mission in this A Safehouse in the Hills series, A Clean Break, is a bit different, and we've prepared a step-by-step walkthrough to guide you through it.

KnoWay Out mission 5 A Clean Break walkthrough for GTA Online A Safehouse in the Hills

After completing Trash Talking, you don't need to be dealing with KnoWay anymore. You'll now be looking at the big fish directly: the FIB. Before we move on with the guide, check out the list of tasks you'll be facing:

Collect the hacking device.
Wait for the FIB to arrive.
Get Busted.
Escape the interrogation room.
Collect the hacking device.
Hack the FIB database.
Go to the roof.
Enter the Swift.
Return the hacking device to Avi.

Grab the hacking device and get arrested

The first thing you'll have to do is to pick up the hacking device from the van provided by Avi.

Just stay put or run to the vehicles to get busted fast (Image via Sportskeeda || Rockstar Games)

Now, simply stay where you are and FIB agents will swarm your location as Avi has basically swatted you. As the agents close in, your character will automatically surrender and you'll get a "busted" screen.

Escape and grab your stuff

The scene transitions into the FIB building, where you're being interrogated. The incompetent agent simply leaves the room in frustration since he can't make our mute GTA Online protagonist talk.

Before leaving the room, pick up the emergency protocol handbook from the bookshelf opposite of you. If you're playing with a friend, you'll spawn in the next room where the arrangement will be a little different.

Check which colored wire leads to the unlock symbol and remember it for now.

Next, pick up the pen from the desk and move to break open the keypad. When the game shows you an option to pick a colored wire, choose the one that corresponds to the Unlock symbol in the emergency protocol handbook. Again, if you're playing with a friend and you're the second player, the pen will be in a shelf instead of on the desk like in the main room.

Now, all you have to do is to KO all the FIB agents stealthily while reaching for your equipment and the hacking device. Once you get your weapons back, you can just shoot everyone. If you're going for the Elite Challenge, you'll have to get 35 headshots, so be sure to clean out the floor.

Hack the FIB and escape

The hacking minigame is quite simple, as you can see from the above screenshot. You just need to connect the circuit by moving the boards up or down.

Once you do the hack, the alarms will start ringing and the FIB will be alerted. Again, for the Elite Challenge, turn around and go back to the main hallway. Some more FIB agents will spawn in, so be sure to go for the headshots.

The roof will have some more hostiles, and your helicopter pilot will get killed.

Simply fly over to the northwest direction of the map as Avi starts speaking to you.

Unfortunately, just as you're about to reach him, you'll get hit by some guided missiles.

Survive the onslaught and reach Avi

You'll start this sequence in first person (Image via Sportskeeda || Rockstar Games)

You'll somehow survive the crash, albeit a bit dazed and badly injured. Remember to heal with some snacks and equip an armor.

Here's where the final showdown will take place as FIB agents will be all over you near the beach.

There will be at least two Annihilator helicopters as well so make sure to take them out with a Railgun since it's the fastest option.

After that, just hop on to one of the jet skis here and escape the FIB by moving as far away from the coast as possible. They'll lose sight of you pretty easily, even as a helicopter moves to follow you.

Once you reach Avi's tugboat, you'll get the cutscene that was revealed in the GTA Online: A Safehouse in the Hills trailer, and the mission will end with a huge paycheck of $525,000 on hard more. If you managed to complete the Elite Challenge, you'll get an extra $100,000, bringing the total money earned to $625,000. So, here are the Elite Challenge requirements for A Clean Break:

0 hacks failed
35 headshots

The weekly challenge provided with the release of GTA Online's A Safehouse in the Hills DLC gives you an additional $400,000 for completing this mission as a leader.

So, with this, you've finished the KnoWay Out mission series. However, if you're a mansion owner, you'll get a one-time mission with Michael called Home Sweet Home that concludes A Safehouse in the Hills.
