As of now there is no official news or announcement about GTA 6 Online. However, many fans in the community are speculating that the multiplayer variant could release either alongside or a few months after the story mode. Grand Theft Auto was one of the first titles to popularize gameplay centered on illegal activities and became an inspiration to many other games.
One of the most popular titles in recent times surrounding illegal businesses is Schedule 1. In this game, players enter a low-fidelity, cartoonish world, where they can create various substances and sell them illegally. Hence, there are loads of features in Schedule 1 that Rockstar could implement in GTA 6 Online.

5 Schedule 1 details GTA 6 Online should inculcate
1) Distinct customers instead of anonymous sell missions

In Schedule 1, players do not drop the product at a location and drive off like in GTA Online; instead, they physically walk up to customers and secretly sell them the product. This is a lot more immersive than simply dropping a box or a bag in a deserted location where no NPC can be found.
Hence, GTA 6 Online can have distinct customers or even different gangs to whom the multiplayer protagonist can sell. This will make sell missions much more realistic and allow players to build connections with gangs, the more they sell the product.
2) Detailed product tweaking

Schedule 1 has extremely detailed substance manufacturing mechanics. Players need to physically create the drugs and sell them. Various ingredients add different effects to the products. Whereas in GTA Online, the substance manufacturing feels quite anonymous since players are only involved in resupplying and selling the product. After a point, the distinction between different product businesses might not even matter.
Hence, GTA 6 Online should have a more detailed substance manufacturing mechanic like in Schedule 1, so that players feel more immersed. There will also be a clear distinction between different businesses.
3) Random police interjection during sell missions

During GTA Online sell missions, players usually encounter enemy NPCs from different businesses or gangs. These usually chase players down and shoot them with pistols, SMGs, etc.
In Schedule 1, however, the police also take random actions against the players by setting up roadblocks, security checkpoints, patrols, etc. Something like this should also be implemented in GTA 6 Online, where areas should have high police activity, forcing players to take different routes or techniques to get past them undetected.
4) Detailed storyline with business

Schedule 1 has a storyline that progresses as players expand their business. The game opens with the player living in the desert with their uncle Nelson. After completing the tutorial, Nelson is arrested by the police. The player's RV gets blown up by rival drug dealers, after which the player is forced to live in a motel room and operate the business from there with Uncle Nelson's guidance.
Whereas, in GTA Online, most businesses have some sort of story and characters in the beginning, but soon it becomes yet another business with supply and sell missions. Hence, GTA 6 Online should have a more detailed story linked with each business, and the story can progress as the business expands.
5) Different lobbies with different territorial rivalries

Schedule 1 has different territories controlled by different drug dealers. If players try to sell their product in rival territories, they can encounter more enemy NPCs. Something like this can also be implemented in GTA 6 Online. When players switch from one lobby to another, the territory controls among different players and NPCs can change.
This will result in deliveries in different locations, based on cost and level of heat. If players manage to deliver product in a high-heat area, they will get more cash and also slightly expand their own territory.
