5 most disturbing missions from the GTA series

It is safe to say that the GTA franchise has some of the most unique missions where characters commit horrific crimes as part of the story. While most missions involve killing NPCs, some specific ones go beyond gunshot deaths and normal injuries, showing how brutal and gruesome the criminal world can be. These missions can make many players wince and feel disturbed.

Here is a list of some of the most disturbing and brutal missions in the GTA series.

5 extremely disturbing missions in GTA series

1) By the Book

This mission is in GTA 5, the latest Grand Theft Auto so far. During this mission, Michael and Trevor meet Steve Haines and Dave Norton in an abandoned warehouse. During the cutscene, the FIB agents explain that Ferdinand Kerimov, who is tied to a chair, has information on Tahir Javan, who needs to be assassinated.

Trevor is given the task to use various tools to torture and get the information about Javan out of Kerimov. During this mission, players will both play as Michael, who heads to Chumash to kill Javan, and Trevor, who is torturing Kerimov. The methods used to torture the NPC are extremely graphic and merciless, making it one of the most disturbing missions in the game.

2) Hot Dog Homicide!

This is a mission from the old GTA 2 game released in 1999. This mission is given a task by Russian Mafia boss Jerkov to the protagonist Claude Speed.

In the story, a meat processing company offers to feed the Russian Mafia members if it supplies them with a cheap source of meat. Jerkov orders Claude to steal a bus and pick up people waiting at bus stops.

After the bus is full, Claude needs to drive the bus to the R.S. & L. Bows Meat Processing Plant, where the passengers will be butchered in a meat grinder. Finally, their remains will be delivered to the Kovski Diner in a Hot Dog Van.

3) Deconstruction

Deconstruction might not be visually gruesome, but it is quite a dark mission. It was in GTA San Andreas, where CJ gets revenge from construction workers harassing his sister, Kendl. He first destroys six portable houses at the construction site. During this time, a foreman was in the portable toilet. He comes out of it, sees the destruction, and immediately re-enters the toilet to hide.

CJ notices this and dumps the entire portable toilet in a large hole in the site using a bulldozer. Later, he uses a cement mixer to fill the hole with cement, essentially burying the foreman alive inside the toilet.

4) Dead Meat

This horrific mission takes place in GTA Liberty City Stories, where Toni Cipriani captures Giovanni Casa for not paying his protection money to Toni's mother. After capturing Casa, Toni heads to Liberty City Sawmills, where he plans to rip Casa to shreds.

However, Casa realizes this and tries to escape, though Toni's initial plan failed, he still manages to catch Casa and butcher him using a hand axe. After this, Toni takes Casa's remains to his own deli, where the clerk decides to use the melee and sell it through the deli.

5) A Starlet in Vinewood

This is a side mission that Franklin embarks on in GTA 5. Franklin can find several letter scraps scattered around the map, which is essentially Leonora Johnson's murder confession. Once the player finds all fifty letter scraps, Franklin will learn that the killer is Peter Dreyfuss and confronted in his mansion. There is an option to kill or spare Leonora's killer.

While the murderer's confession was already dark, the entire story of how she was murdered was on an in-game website. On this website, a more detailed story was revealed about how Dreyfuss mutilated Leonora's body, which was later found near the Land Act Dam.
