Tiger Woods is considered to be one of golf's legends with his historical 82 wins on the PGA Tour, and has been praised for his skills on the golf course by many. His former fellow competitor, Padraig Harrington, gave his reasoning on why some kids tend to think he was poor off the tee.

In a recent interview with Dan Rapaport, Harrington revealed that back in the early 200s, long hitters were bullied. He noted that Tiger Woods, who was considered to be one of the longest hitters on the PGA Tour at that time, was considered to be a 'bad driver' despite hitting it far and straight.

The now Champions Tour star stated that this is because of the layouts of the par 4 holes. Tiger Woods would often have to play a cut on a dogleg hole, which leaves very minimal room for error on either side and increases his chances of ending up in the rough.

Reaffirming the 15-time Major champion's skills on the golf course, Padraig Harrington said (via X @Daniel_Rapaport):

"You think of how much Tiger got bullied. Tiger, the greatest player in the game, was the best driver of the ball in the game in the early 2000s. He just hit it 30 yards past everybody and hit it so straight...Most par 4s he's cutting a dogleg. So he's hitting it 30 yards past where the driving area is. It's narrower. It's awkward. You're cutting across the angle. So if it's a right-left dogleg and you're going over the corner, five-yard pull, it's in the rough; five-yard push, it's in the rough. It's a much smaller area. Tiger was a brilliant driver. And you think about the world convinced him by late round, 'Oh, Tiger's a bad driver.' Most kids think Tiger was a bad driver of the ball! He was brilliant and really straight. And really good under pressure. Every par five, back in the day, he used to hit it 330 off the tee on the par 5s just straight down the middle."
