Joel Dahmen once shared some valuable advice with young kids to save money. The American golfer is currently enjoying some time away from the greens. However, in August, he answered some interesting questions.He was asked for advice for young kids on saving money. In response, the PGA Tour pro told them to stay away from tournaments with entry fees of around $500. He said (via Golf Digest):"Find the course where the latest junior tournament was played, and book a tee time late in the day after everyone leaves,” Dahmen said (via Golf Digest). "Play golf with your son/daughter from the tournament yardage and see how you stack up."Pins will be the same, distance the same, bring up the leaderboard after the round to see how you and your child stack up against the junior field…it’s like playing a tournament for twilight golf fees instead of $500 tournament entry," he added.Joel Dahmen started playing professionally in 2010 and competed on the Web.com Tour, PGA Tour Canada, Gateway Tour, and the Korn Ferry Tour before joining the PGA Tour. He won the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship at the event back in 2021. He played four rounds of 67, 71, 68, and 70 to register a one-stroke win over Rafael Campos and Sam Ryder.Joel Dahmen to host a charity eventJoel Dahmen announced the first edition of a charity golf event, Joel Jam, on social media. He shared a post on his Instagram account on December 4 with a long caption. He wrote:"It’s official! After a few years of behind the scenes, our foundation (@dahmenfamilyfoundation) is hosting a tournament to raise money and help families fight cancer, and get more youth into this sport of golf that has given me so much."We have 1 (one or uno) group left and we saved it for someone out there looking to help us make a difference. Many of my friends are coming to play (a good list of fun peeps!😏), and I’d love to have you and your friends too."Dahmen further reflected on his excitement for the event."Can’t wait to make a difference. #JoelJam #Welcometotheteam," he added. He missed his PGA Tour card for the 2026 season after settling in 122nd place in the FedEx Cup fall season standings.He started this season at the Sony Open, but he missed the cut in two back-to-back events. He then finished T9 at the Farmers Insurance Open but missed the cut at the WM Phoenix Open.He played in 28 tournaments and missed the cut in 12 of them. He recorded three finishes inside the top 10.
