The Hero World Challenge 2025 is set to start in a few days. The much-anticipated Tiger Woods hosted event will be played from Thursday, December 4 to Sunday, December 7 at Albany Golf Course in the Bahamas.
The Hero World Challenge will be the PGA Tour's non-official event, featuring 20 top players. The purse size of the event is $5 million, and it will also award OWGR points to the players.
The tournament will feature Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, J.J. Spaun and Harris English as four of the top ten-ranked players. Scheffler is also back to back defending champion at Albany.
The field will also include other US Ryder Cup squad members like Cameron Young, Sam Burns, and captain Keegan Bradley. Players from the European Ryder Cup squad, like Justin Rose, Robert MacIntyre, and Sepp Straka, are also in action. Last year's Presidents Cup International squad members Corey Conners and Hideki Matsuyama are also in the field.
Akshay Bhatia, Billy Horschel, and Jordan Spieth are the final three names who have been awarded an exception for the event. Tournament host Tiger Woods has opted out of the competition, citing surgery recovery.
