Tyrrell Hatton, other European stars react to Ryder Cup team's SPOTY recognition

Tyrrell Hatton sent a heartfelt message to the Ryder Cup Team Europe, who were honored at the BBC SPOTY 2025. The Ryder Cup team was awarded the Team of the Year award.

The team has been phenomenal with their game this year at the Ryder Cup, held in September. Playing on foreign soil, they successfully defended their title. They were dominant in the first two days of the event and finally maintained the lead and retained the title by two points.

Europe won the event in 2023 in Rome and again had a dominant outing in 2025.

At the BBC SPOTY, Rory McIlroy won the Personality of the Year award for his outstanding performance in 2025. He won The Masters this year and completed his career Grand Slam.

Tyrrell Hatton has sent a sweet congratulatory message to Lando Norris. The F1 driver won the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship earlier this month. Formula 1 shared the news on its X (formerly Twitter) account, which was reshared by Hatton on his account with a sweet message. He wrote:

"Congratulations @LandoNorris, so happy for you and your team."

Tyrrell Hatton, meanwhile, is enjoying a good time away from the field these days. He last played at the DP World Tour Championship, where he played rounds of 70, 67, 67, and 72 to settle in a T14 position. On the European Tour, he won the Hero Dubai Desert Classic and finished in second place at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
